Paper Mache Letters!
Wow, the 6th graders put a lot of work...and time...into completing these awesome initials out of paper mache. They constructed the form out of cereal boxes, applied layers of paper mache and then painted. Very cool!

Tree line studies --
6th graders created these cool designs by making a collage background of different shades of warm or cool color. The foreground was a tree illustration made up of lines and patterns. There job was to make sure those lines and patterns were used in a way to give the tree a variety of values...dark areas, white and everything in between.
Dia de los Muertos in the art room...
We had a little fun Halloween week and celebrated Dia de los Muertos - Day of the Dead - the Mexican holiday that celebrates those who have passed. I'm sure it's been too long since 6th graders have done art with macaroni! Their solutions to building their skeletons were hilarious.
