5th Grade Collage...
5th graders hand painted their own papers one day using many tools - toy cars, toothbrushes, forks, legos, cookie cutters - to add all kinds of texture. They later used those papers to create these fun collages or any subject they wanted. Congratulations goes to Hannah whose collaged LION won honorable mention at the Archbishop Murphy Art Show and will be hanging in a student art exhibit at the SEATTLE ART MUSEUM!! Show opening reception is June 1, from 1:00-2:00. (I'm so sorry I didn't take a photo of it before it was entered in the show!) Great work, Hannah!!!
Birch Tree Watercolors...
5th graders made these beautiful tree pieces of art with tape on watercolor paper. They taped off all the white areas and then painted the blue night sky. On our second class meeting time, after peeling away the tape, they gave the trees their birch markings and shadow from the moonlight. Amazing!
Snowmen at night...
5th graders practiced the shading of a sphere shape with these painted snowmen at night. They added paper collage accessories to finish them off.
Mrs. Weber's class began the year with these symmetrical King Tut masks. They painted in gold and red and oil pasteled in the blue. -Sept. 2012
